Dark Matter
Dark matter utilizes the unique properties of glass to represent ethereal and intangible concepts. Using two clear glasses with slightly different coefficients of expansion, hidden images are encoded in a series of spheres. Only when the viewer peers through the polarized lens of the polariscope, made from a modified overhead projector, are the forms revealed. The otherwise imperceptible forms are made visible through the stress they impose on the surrounding glass, much in the same way we only ‘see’ dark matter through its interaction with visible matter
